Muhammad PSL, panacea of eternal life (By Professor Elhadji Mounirou NDIAYE)

Mouhammad PSL, panacée de la vie éternelle (Par le Pr Elhadji Mounirou NDIAYE)

All praise is due to Allah SWT, Our Creator, to Whom our firm allegiance is immutable and infinite. All praise is due to the seal of the prophets, Muhammad (PBUH), whom He sent to us as the perfect warner. The greatest miracle of Muhammad (PBUH) is the Quran in its perfect and complete state, which he transmitted to us, as revealed in verse 38 of Surah 6: "We have omitted nothing from the Book." Nearly 1,450 years after its revelation, the Quran has retained its integrity and uniformity, notwithstanding the vain attempts at sabotage orchestrated by satanists through the production of falsified versions. This is corroborated by verse 9 of Surah 15: "It is We who have sent down the Reminder, and it is We who are its guardians."

Spiritual deviations and obscurantism in the world are maintained by the eviction of this perfect science coming from Allah SWT, by human knowledge as insignificant as it is imperfect. How can man, to whom Allah SWT has granted only little science (Surah 17 verse 85), claim to successfully substitute his weak and very limited knowledge for the perfect knowledge revealed in the Quran? How can humanity escape the multifaceted crises that characterize it if divine solutions continue to be ignored in the governance of the world?

The absence of religion is a religion, and like the darkness that takes over any space where there is no light, this has led to the spectacular development of the tentacles of disbelief. Sheikh Ahmad Tidiane Sy Al Macktoum RTA said that: "a life without religion is a life without principles, and a life without principles is a boat without a rudder." Currently, the degradation of morals, the trampling of cardinal values, and the absence of morality have caused a loss of bearings that is increasingly sowing chaos in humanity. What is currently happening in Palestine and the many other acts of violence, as well as the exacerbation of capitalism to the detriment of the weakest, are perfect illustrations of this.

Muhammad (PBUH) appeared at a time when a similar, if not more severe, disorder characterized Arabia. The overwhelming majority of humans idolized all sorts of deities, injustice and brigandage had reached new heights, and violence against women had reached the point where girls were buried alive. It was not by force of the sword that he convinced the entire world of his spiritual supremacy, as Mahatma Gandhi so aptly put it. Muslims were, moreover, outnumbered in all the holy wars they waged, beginning with the Battle of Badr in 624, where, with a force of 300 fighters, they were able to defeat an army of nearly 1,800.

Muhammad (PBUH) waged elegant and clean armed struggles, excluding aggression against nature and attacks against women, children, and the elderly. But armed struggle was only a subsidiary practice compared to the Quranic argument that he favored and by which he convinced and continues to convince the majority of Muslims. The holy war was therefore based on retaliation and on the refusal to be intimidated to the detriment of the accomplishment of his mission. It is therefore more through his behavior and his perfect Quranic argument that he established Islam, which is the laughingstock and enemy of modern times. Seydi Elhadji Malick Sy RTA thus wrote: "by his strategy and his blessings, he showed the way to humanity." Allah SWT did not praise him for his origins or for his legendary beauty, but He praised him for his human virtues. Verse 4 of Surah 68 states: “And indeed, you are of immense morality.”

Despite his status as the best chosen of Allah SWT, Muhammad (PBUH) was not spared the suffering and trials that make the game of the material world possible. Hence the warning in verse 4 of Surah 50: "We have indeed created man for a life of trial." Seydi Elhadji Malick Sy also wrote that no human could ever endure the trials and sufferings experienced by Muhammad (PBUH) in this material world, as a kind of atrocious exercises that he had to endure to deserve his status and rank as the best of beings. The lesson is that he was thus put in all the trying situations to show humanity the posture to adopt in each situation. This is what makes the supreme strength of the sunnah (or prophetic tradition) as a source of understanding of the Quran and inspiration for holding oneself in the best possible manners in society.

By observing natural phenomena, the spiritual filth in the planet and the absolute subordination of humans to material goods, technologies and artificial intelligence, we understand that today's world presents all the signs of the end of times as explicitly described by Muhammad (PBUH). This is because during his night ascension, he traveled through time, from the time of the Prophet Adam (HS) to Armageddon and the apocalypse that will trigger the final phase of the end of times.

We can understand that for his posterity, Muhammad (PBUH) witnessed the end of time in a scripted dimension, that is to say that everything depends on the behavior and actions of men and the State of the material world as preeminent factors that can precipitate the end of the world. He had then precisely limited himself to clearly describing the signs while specifying that Only Allah SWT holds the Knowledge of temporal accuracy.

Muhammad (PBUH) taught us the quest for eternal salvation and life, which must follow the trying pitfalls of the deceptive material life. This is what verse 64 of Surah 29 reveals: "This worldly life is only entertainment and play. The home of the Hereafter is certainly the true life, if they only knew!" In a world where material reserves are depleting, fading, and where spiritual disorder and material desolation are increasingly taking hold, all that remains is to save our souls while there is still time. It would be a great shame to trade this eternal life and bliss for these illusory and ephemeral material pleasures that keep people running.

Eternal peace and blessings be upon Muhammad.

Happy Mawlid 2025.
