Shock and dismay in Yarakh. A Senegalese man of Guinean origin, aged 61, was found yesterday Monday, around 4 p.m., dead, hanged in his shop. It was his son, Mr. Ba, who came across the tragedy when he came down from school. Local residents were alerted by the cries of distress from the 13-year-old student. After the usual observations by the gendarmes of the territorial brigade of Hann, the body was deposited in the morgue. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday at the General Idrissa Pouye hospital in Grand-Yoff.
According to the testimonies collected by Seneweb, A. Ba was seen yesterday Monday at the tisbar prayer (2 p.m.) at the neighborhood mosque. Upon his return, the sixty-year-old locked himself in his shop where he allegedly hanged himself using a rope attached to the ceiling, by climbing onto a table.
The deceased, whose wife is in Guinea, lived alone with his son in Yarakh. The suicide theory is favored by investigators.
