Ivorian comedian Adama Dahico recently gave an interview to the YouTube channel Actupeople. The Doromikan president discussed the political situation in Côte d'Ivoire. He hopes that political actors will finally find a way to engage in dialogue in order to make decisions that promote peace.

“Even dead with a grand funeral organized and resurrected after prayers and dry fasting…”

For him, everything that is happening in the country could have been avoided thanks to the constitutional revision of 2016. "Why do we like to tire ourselves out? When we revised the Constitution in 2016, we should have simply said: the age limit, 75 years, we leave it as it is. Regarding the number of mandates, we should specify: 'Even if you die with a grandiose funeral and are resurrected after prayers and dry fasting, no one can be a candidate in a presidential election after two mandates,'" the native of Adjamé said humorously.

Asked to apply his knowledge of numerology to the date of birth of current President Alassane Ouattara, Adama Dahico revealed that the leader was born under the number 9.

"If he is elected, he will serve his fourth term. If he is not elected, he will go and rest."

A number that marks accomplishment. "That is to say, he's arrived where he's arrived. So, old man, you've done too much in that country. So, sorry, you need to rest a little," the comedian said, laughing.

When the journalist asked him if he was sending a subliminal message to Mr. Ouattara, Dahico refrained from answering in the affirmative, simply recalling the president's declaration of candidacy.

"He did what he could. He was the one who said he could be a candidate. Ivorians will go and vote. If he is elected, he will serve his fourth term. If he is not elected, he will go and rest," declared the Doromikan president.
