Senegalese MP Guy Marius Sagna is currently participating in the 2nd Pan-African Donkey Conference in Abidjan, Ivory Coast .

The event, organized by the African Union through the Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (IBAR), brings together stakeholders committed to the protection of this endangered species.

"I left Dakar for Abidjan, where I am invited to this conference," the parliamentarian said in a message posted on his social media. This year's theme is: "Africa's commitment to policy and practice for donkey conservation now and in the future."

The meeting aims to strengthen policies to protect donkeys in Africa, an animal that is crucial for rural activities but increasingly threatened by abusive exploitation, particularly for its skin, which is sought after in certain industries.
