bac Tech
Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Gueye, director of the Baccalaureate Office, spoke on Monday about the results of the 2025 technical baccalaureate. A guest on the Salam Senegal program, he confirmed a significant drop in the success rate: 67.37% this year, compared to 75% in 2024.
"In-depth analyses will be needed to understand the causes of this decline," he said.
According to him, some examination centers are showing results that are considered catastrophic. This observation fuels the call for a thorough reform of technical education.
"It is imperative to raise the level of training, both for students and teachers, to ensure better mastery of the disciplines," he stressed. He therefore advocates for strengthening teaching methods and upgrading skills.
Asked about cases of fraud, Mr. Gueye reiterated the firmness of surveillance measures: mobile phones remain strictly prohibited in examination centers.
"I ask parents to play their role in raising awareness. Cheating compromises the credibility of the Senegalese baccalaureate," he insisted.
Finally, to reassure public opinion, the director insisted that the integrity of the tests is assured:
"The exam papers are carefully guarded. Even the director of the Baccalaureate Office doesn't have access to them in advance."
