CBAO : le verdict attendu le...

The Supreme Court examined the dispute between staff representatives and the Cbao General Management on Friday and set its decision for November 27, reports Les Echos in its edition the following day.

The dispute pits the bank's management against three staff representatives—Mansour Diallo, Alioune Seck, and Papa Doudou Tounkara—who were dismissed by Cbao management. The Minister of Labor intervened to order their reinstatement, a decision contested by the bank. The Supreme Court then overruled the minister, initially ruling in favor of management.

In the background, the conflict also concerns broader demands of the workers: wages, bonuses, opening up of capital, and other working conditions. The three delegates are seeking reinstatement so they can participate in the elections to the college of delegates, which have been postponed due to these tensions.

On the workers' side, the same source specifies, some fear that the deadline until November 27 will be used to initiate discussions with certain parties or to permanently remove the three union representatives concerned.
