Plan Diomaye pour la Casamance : les populations de Bissine, Bilass et Mahamouda plaident pour plus d'accompagnement vers la paix
After thirty years of abandoning their villages due to the conflict in southern Senegal, the populations of Bilass and Bissine, in the Niaguis district, and Mahamouda, in the Niassya district, are gradually returning to their lands. Life is gradually returning to these localities thanks to the efforts of the Senegalese government and its partners, who have secured the areas with the support of the army and rebuilt homes and infrastructure. With the arrival of the new authorities under the regime of President Diomaye, the "Diomaye Plan for Casamance" is injecting new momentum to encourage the return of populations. This hopeful plan supports resettlement in these villages, some of which have been repopulated since 2022. However, residents face daily challenges and call for increased support.
