Escroquerie à Keur Mbaye Fall: Démantèlement d'un réseau Qnet , six suspects arrêtés
The Territorial Brigade of the Industrial Free Zone has dealt a major blow to economic crime by dismantling a large-scale fraud ring. The operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals suspected of carrying out fraudulent activities under the guise of the Qnet system.
Six arrests in the case
Law enforcement officers arrested the alleged leader of the network, B. Mbaye, along with five accomplices identified as Mr. Gaye, O. Mar, P. Samb, as well as two women, Mrs. M. Diop and NA Wade. This criminal cell operated in an organized manner in the Keur Mbaye Fall area.
An operation triggered by intelligence
The gendarmes' intervention followed intelligence reporting the presence of an active Qnet network in the Keur Mbaye Fall area. This information allowed the men of Chief Warrant Officer Abdou Fama Guèye to precisely locate the suspicious activities and plan an arrest operation, according to Seneweb sources.
Caught red-handed in fraudulent training
The six alleged fraudsters were caught in a building in the Adja Marième housing project while providing training to three individuals. This training session was likely part of the recruitment and indoctrination process characteristic of fraudulent pyramid schemes.
Significant material seized
The operation led to the seizure of material revealing the scale of the organization:
- 40 plastic chairs
- 2 television sets
- 2 padex tables
- 9 channels for visitors
- A 5-seater velvet lounge
This equipment demonstrates the organized structure put in place by the scammers to carry out their training activities and recruit new victims.
The investigation is continuing to determine the exact extent of this network's activities and to identify any other possible victims of this organized scam.
The Keur Massar gendarmerie company under the leadership of Commander Kalaw Tine is working to combat crime and delinquency in all its forms.
