HOMMAGE À FANTA SALL : Un héritage de dévouement et de service au cœur de Koungheul
Senegal mourns the passing of Ms. Fanta Sall, a former member of parliament and emblematic figure of the Koungheul region, whose death plunged Saloum into deep sadness. Her legacy, deeply rooted in community service, is remembered today in a poignant statement from her family.
A spiritual and historical lineage
Fanta Sall came from a noble lineage of servants of God and man. The deceased is a descendant of Mouhamadou Sall, known as Mouhamadou Bamba Sall, a scholar of Saloum who was the teacher of Serigne Momar Anta Sali, father of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké. It is in homage to this spiritual connection that the name "Bamba" was passed on to the founder of Mouridism. This connection, which always guided his steps, made his life an example of devotion.
A review of concrete actions
Throughout her term and life, Fanta Sall led significant actions for her community. She worked to build and rehabilitate mosques, equipped several localities (Koungheul-ville, Bamba Modou Coura, Taïba Thialène, Missirah Wadène) with mini-boreholes, and organized free medical consultations for the poorest.
Her commitment to women and young people was a pillar of her work: she funded 60 women's groups and paid 200 of them for school maintenance, while supporting education and the promotion of sport with the creation of the "Coupe Honorable Fanta Sall".
To serve men is to serve God
Fanta Sall's journey has been guided by a simple and powerful philosophy: "To serve God is to serve humanity." She has embodied this value by devoting herself to her community, advocating for prisoners, particularly Senegalese in the diaspora, and leading a constant fight to improve the living conditions of the people of Koungheul.
His memory will forever be associated with loyalty to his roots, love for his community, and an unwavering desire to build. May the land of Koungheul and Bamba be blessed with joy.
