Mbour : le film de la chute d’un grand convoyeur de migrants, plus de 300 millions F CFA encaissés, des dizaines de morts dans les bras…
P. Ndiaye's escape is over. He is a well-known migrant courier to Europe, based in Mbour. He was arrested last Monday evening in his neighborhood, while walking near his home.
The Saly gendarmerie arrested and detained him before bringing him before the public prosecutor on Tuesday. He was remanded in custody for migrant smuggling and endangering the lives of others.
P. Ndiaye wrote the first lines of his legend in 2021, according to L'Observateur, which replayed the film of his arrest in its Thursday edition. His first migrant transport operation was a success: "More than one hundred [would-be immigrants] crammed aboard a makeshift pirogue managed to reach European shores. This unexpected success strengthened him in his endeavor."
Upon his return to Senegal, by land, according to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, he signed up for a new expedition. He collected millions of CFA francs from applicants, but decided to delegate the management of the canoe to another captain.
The journey turns into a disaster. The boat capsizes, killing the driver and several passengers. "A few survivors manage to return to Mbour. Faced with the scale of the disaster and the anger of the families, P. Ndiaye disappears completely from the region," the newspaper reports.
In 2023, the same source continues, he reappeared and did it again. He gathered dozens of migrants in a house in Mbour while they awaited the big departure. The candidates spent a total of 310 million CFA francs.
The latter were disillusioned when P. Ndiaye left them on the day chosen for the trip. There was no trace of the famous escort. The group contacted the Saly Portudal search brigade and recounted their misadventure. The accused was nowhere to be found.
Two years later, P. Ndiaye resumed his activities. But the new planned trip did not take place; the gendarmes, alerted, intercepted 17 of his clients who had each paid 500,000 CFA francs. The famous courier once again managed to escape and dribble past the gendarmerie's radars. Until the evening of Monday, August 11...
"His arrest caused great relief in Mbour. Residents, and especially the victims' relatives, praised the actions of the police," reports L'Observateur.

Une vraie desolation, ils aiment la facilité, ils ont laissé tout aux etrangers qui se debrouillent tres bien dans diverses activites ; le senegalais lui c'est chanter, danser et chercher femmes, le senegal est mal barré
