Braquage à Touba : le film du face-à-face sanglant entre un jeune courageux et… neuf voleurs armés de fusils et de machettes
The Riu Baobab Hotel in Pointe Sarène, an architect's villa in Saly, the Dolima factory in Richard-Toll... and now a house in the Darou Tanzil neighborhood of Touba. The series of bloody robberies continues with the same type of commando, the same approach, the same audacity, and the same violence.
On Monday, September 1st, around 4 a.m., nine men armed with rifles and machetes burst into a villa in Darou Tanzil, a neighborhood of Touba. According to a statement to the police by the head of the family, a trader named Abdou Boye, the attackers arrived in a vehicle whose make he did not know. Some rushed to the enclosure to load the purebred sheep while others searched the premises for valuables and money.
L'Observateur, which relayed this story in its Thursday edition, reports that the criminals' plans were disrupted by an unforeseen event: summoning his courage, a nephew of the shopkeeper, Abdou Khadre Bèye, decided to intervene. He grabbed a machete and struck a violent blow to the head of the first thief he encountered. "The criminal fell heavily, inert, bathed in his own blood," the daily newspaper reported.
Two of the intruders appeared and attacked Bèye, while others retrieved their wounded comrade and took him into their vehicle. "Fearing being discovered by the neighborhood or seeing a police patrol arrive, the attackers decided to retreat," the newspaper continued. "But before leaving the scene, five of them attacked Abdou Khadre Bèye. Violently attacked and hit on the head and hands, the latter collapsed, seriously injured."
The shopkeeper's nephew will be rushed to hospital. More fear than harm: "his life is no longer in danger," reassures L'Observateur. It concludes: "The Touba police, who have opened an investigation, have launched a pursuit of the armed commando, determined to put an end to their escape and reassure a population plunged into fear."

Je suggère aux populations de Touba de se mobiliser afin de mettre en place des fonds de soutien à la police et à la gendarmerie.
Les mourides ont le bon coeur de donner pour Serigne Touba et pour Touba sa ville.
Je les exhorte à ouvrir un compte pour la sécurité de Touba.
Ce n est pas qu á touba qu on a besoin de sécurité mais partout au Sénégal
