Qualifications Coupe du monde : le réveil tardif de la Guinée et de la Gambie
After a difficult start to the campaign, Guinea and Gambia had a good run on the 7th day of qualifying.
Away to Somalia in , Guinea won (0-3). The Guinean goals were scored by Sehrou Guirassy (22nd), Omar own goal (64th) and Ousmane Camara (90+2). A late awakening in Group H for the Syli national (3rd, 10 pts) who, despite this victory, are still eight points behind the leader, Algeria (18 pts).
Like Guinea, Gambia also put in a strong performance in Group F, winning 1-3 against Kenya in Nairobi. Sheriff Sinyan (12th), Yankuba Minteh (26th) and Musa Barrow (38th) scored for the Scorpions, while Ryan Ogam reduced the deficit for Kenya (81st). Despite this success, Gambia is 11 points behind leaders Gabon (18 pts).
At home, Namibia (group) missed the opportunity to get closer to Tunisia by losing to Malawi (1-2).
