Week-end des Sénégalais de l’étranger : Ismaïla Sarr buteur, Iliman Ndiaye dans l’histoire, un trophée pour Édouard Mendy

Like last weekend, Senegalese footballers once again distinguished themselves on pitches around the world.

In the French Ligue 1, the second matchday was rich in performances. Nice, with Antoine Mendy and Yehvann Diouf starting, dominated Auxerre (3-1).

At home, Lorient crushed Stade Rennais (4-0). Bingourou Kamara, Formose Mendy, and Sambou Soumano started. The latter opened the scoring for the Merlus, while Mikayil Ngor Faye remained on the bench for Rennes.

Away to Lille, Monaco, with Lamine Camara (starter) but still without Krépin Diatta, who was absent, were beaten by LOSC (1-0).

Le Havre, with its strong Senegalese colony composed of Mory Diaw, Arouna Sanganté, Rassoul Ndiaye and Issa Soumaré as starters, lost at home to Lens (1-2).

For its part, Strasbourg, with its new captain Mamadou Sarr, but without Pape Demba Diop, beat Nantes (1-0). Brest, without Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye, lost to Toulouse (2-0).

In Lyon, Moussa Niakhaté was the starter in the Gones' 3-0 victory over Metz. While Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly, who was expected to start, was absent, Idrissa Guèye came on in the 80th minute.

In the English Premier League, the Senegalese were particularly outstanding on Matchday 2. Ismaïla Sarr scored for Crystal Palace against Nottingham Forest (1-1). At the Hil Dickinson Stadium, Iliman Ndiaye, who scored the opening goal, was the key player in Everton's 2-0 victory over Brighton. Idrissa Gana Guèye started for the Toffees.

Abdallah Sima did not play for Brighton. Habib Diarra's Sunderland lost 2-0 to Burnley away.

At the London Stadium, El Hadj Malick Diouf's West Ham sank to a 5-1 defeat against Chelsea. Nicolas Jackson was again absent for the Blues. At the Etihad Stadium, Pape Matar Sarr's Tottenham pulled off a surprise 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

In the Spanish La Liga, Pape Guèye (starter) participated in Villareal's big victory against Girona (5-0).

In Italy's Serie A, Assane Diao was absent from Como's victory over Lazio. Boulaye Dia came on as a substitute in the 75th minute for Roma.

Finally, in the Turkish Super Lig, Ismail Jakobs was a starter for Galatasaray, who won comfortably away to Kayserispor (4-0).

Franchement Sarr lui, celui de Tottenham avec leurs trophées remportés et pape Guèye doivent figurer sur les Tops 6 africain.
