Péage lla Touba : Les motocyclistes dénoncent les abus et appellent au dialogue
On the eve of the Magal de Touba scheduled for August 13, 2025, Senegalese motorcycle associations, clubs and groups are denouncing the unfair treatment suffered during the August 23, 2024 edition. Two-wheeler drivers were forced to leave the Touba highway on foot, despite having proper documents, without legal justification or official communication.
The signatories emphasize that motorcycles are a legitimate means of transportation and that the majority of motorcyclists are responsible. They reject any form of stigmatization and call on the authorities to collaborate with motorcyclist organizations to ensure safe and fair traffic during the Magal.
They also highlight their civic initiatives, including awareness raising, distribution of safety equipment and promotion of compliance with the Highway Code.
A petition has been launched to support these demands.
