Gamou: Review of the visit of the Director General of Police to Tivaouane

Gamou : Retour sur la visite du Directeur Général de la Police à Tivaouane

Inspector General of Police Mame Seydou Ndour, Director General of the National Police, visited Tivaouane last Wednesday as part of preparations for Gamou. The purpose of this official visit was to review the troops and ensure the effective implementation of the security measures planned for this major religious event.

An XXL security device deployed

On the occasion of this Gamou 2025, the police authorities had put in place an exceptional security system, demonstrating the importance given to the protection of the faithful and pilgrims:

Considerable human resources:

- 3,323 officers deployed across the entire field, constituting an impressive security force to cover all aspects of the event.

Large vehicle fleet:

- 187 vehicles of different categories were mobilized, including personnel carriers to ensure the mobility of forces, intervention vehicles for rapid responses, as well as armored vehicles to deal with emergency situations.

Cutting-edge technologies:

- A reinforced camera surveillance system has been installed to ensure optimal coverage and enable real-time monitoring of the situation on the ground.

Support services:

- 2 free advanced medical posts were made available to the population, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to security that takes into account the health needs of participants.

A renewed commitment from the security forces

This visit by the Director General and the deployment of this exceptional system illustrate the determination of the National Police to ensure the peaceful conduct of major religious events.
