Trump ordonne de détruire les bateaux iraniens posant des mines dans le détroit d'Ormuz
Donald Trump on Thursday published several aggressive messages about Iran, saying in particular that he had ordered the US Navy to "shoot down and kill all boats, no matter how small (...) that lay mines" in the Strait of Hormuz.
"There must be no hesitation," the US president wrote on his Truth Social network.
"Our minesweepers are clearing the strait right now. I hereby order that this activity continue, but at three times its current level," he added.
There is total uncertainty about Donald Trump's intentions since he announced an indefinite extension of the ceasefire with Iran.
The unpredictable head of state seems to be favouring a diplomatic approach for the time being, but analysts do not rule out either a massive resumption of hostilities or a complete American disengagement.
In another message, the US president asserted that the Strait of Hormuz was "totally under the control" of the United States, stating: "No ship can enter or leave without the green light from the US Navy."
In the same publication, he described as "INSANE" the "divisions" within the Iranian authorities, according to him, between "hardliners" and "moderates, who are not moderate at all (but who are gaining respect!)".
"Iran is struggling to know who its leader is!" he wrote.
Donald Trump also republished, without comment, a quote from Marc Thiessen, a commentator invited Wednesday by the Fox News channel.
The latter called on X to "kill" Iranian leaders hostile to an agreement with the United States.
The American president also shared, again on Truth Social, an article published by Marc Thiessen in the Washington Post, entitled "Trump doesn't need a deal to get what he wants from Iran."
"Very true!!!! President DJT," commented the 79-year-old Republican, posting a link to the article in question.
