Extradition de l’ex-président burkinabé Damiba vers Ouagadougou : La réaction de Nathalie Yamb
It's an open secret. Former Burkinabe president Paul Henri Sandaogo Damiba, who was living in exile in Togo, was extradited to Ouagadougou on January 17, 2026. Lomé was thus responding to a request made by the Burkinabe authorities.
The Lieutenant-Colonel is accused of "inciting the commission of offenses and crimes, criminal embezzlement of public funds, criminal illicit enrichment, aggravated receiving of stolen goods and money laundering".
"He desperately wanted to return to Burkina Faso. And he has done so..."
Nathalie Yamb was delighted by her extradition to Burkina Faso. In a message posted on her social media account, she thanked Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé for his cooperation.
"He wanted to return to Burkina Faso at all costs. He has done so. Not as president, but as a prisoner. Thank you Faure Gnassingbé," the Swiss-Cameroonian activist rejoiced before demanding the maximum punishment against the man who overthrew Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.
"Let the full rigor of the law be applied to Paul Henri Sandaogo Damiba and his accomplices. Zero pity, zero clemency. Treason and destabilization must be punished in an exemplary and dissuasive manner," she wrote.
