Tentative de Coup d'Etat au Bénin : La réaction de la CEDEAO
ECOWAS, through a press release, expresses its deep concern following reports of an attempted coup in Benin.
The organization strongly condemns this action, which it considers unconstitutional and contrary to the will of the Beninese people.
She calls for strict adherence to the Constitution, while praising the swift response of the Beninese government and defense forces which helped to contain the situation.
ECOWAS warns that the perpetrators of this attempt will be held responsible for any human or material consequences related to their actions.
Finally, she reaffirms her full support for the Beninese authorities and says she is ready to mobilize, if necessary, the regional standby force to defend the constitutional order and the integrity of the country.
