Top 10 des pays les plus industrialisés d’Afrique en 2025 (Rapport de la BAD)
The African Development Bank (AfDB) published its report on the industrialization index in Africa at the end of May. The first thing that stands out in this report is the rise of Morocco.
In 2025, the Kingdom of Morocco became the most industrialized country on the continent, dethroning South Africa, which had reigned supreme for decades. Morocco is reaping the rewards of its consistent and sustained progress, in stark contrast to South Africa, which is experiencing a gradual decline across all key performance indicators.
Senegal, the 8th most industrialized country in Africa by 2025
Egypt occupies 3rd place. A position it reached for the first time in 2020, taking it from Tunisia, which remains in 4th position. Just behind this leading quartet are Mauritius (5th), Algeria (6th), Eswatini (7th), Senegal (8th), Namibia (9th) and Ivory Coast (10th).
Between 2010 and 2024, Senegal recorded significant progress in industrial development, gaining 5 places in the ranking.
Among the lowest-ranked countries in the African industrialization index are Burundi, Comoros, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia and South Sudan.
