[Billet] Entre bombes et blagues : Trump fait sa guerre contre... tous
In the grand geopolitical theater, Donald Trump has decided to trade diplomacy for stand-up comedy. Between two punches and three capital letters on Truth Social, the American president is now improvising as a society columnist, delivering verbal uppercuts to Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron as if they were appetizers. Apparently, war is no longer enough; marital spats are also required.
We thought we were witnessing an international crisis, but instead we find ourselves in a reality TV show called “NATO's Got Talent.” On one side, Trump, the self-proclaimed conductor, calls the Alliance a “paper tiger”—no doubt annoyed that the other big cats refuse to roar on American time. On the other, allies discover that Article 5 doesn't cover questionable jokes or playground banter.
But behind the punchline, the scenario is creaking. Because while Trump mocks Macron's "jaw", his own seems clenched by a persistent reality: Iran is not bending, the Strait of Hormuz is coughing, and the promised victory is slow to arrive.
We wanted an “Epic Fury”, but we mostly got an episodic series, where each bombing feels like a cliffhanger with no resolution.
The paradox is delicious: the more the American president raises his voice, the more he reveals that volume doesn't make the music. The superpower certainly makes a strong impact, but struggles to write the ending.
And as in all good satire, it is the extras – hesitant allies, tired public opinions – who begin to steal the show.
Ultimately, Trump isn't just waging a war; he's crafting his own narrative. The problem is, by personalizing every conflict, he transforms every impasse into a personal ego battle. And when strategy becomes autobiography, even the smallest setback takes on the air of an unauthorized biography.
One question remains, almost philosophical: can you win a war when you mistake an international platform for a comedy club stage? At this rate, “Make America Great Again” might well be rebranded as “Make America… punchline again.” And in that world, even missiles eventually miss their target: reality.
