Efest Africa 2026 : Dakar s’affirme comme capitale du gaming, de l’esport et de la culture digitale
On March 28 and 29, 2026, the Théodore Monod Museum in Dakar hosted another edition of Efest Africa, confirming the growing interest in gaming, esports, and digital culture in Senegal. Organized by the SENGAMES gaming association, the event brought together more than 1,700 participants over two days.
The program includes 18 competitions on console, mobile, and PC, showcasing the talent and dynamism of the local gaming scene. But beyond the tournaments, Efest Africa is establishing itself as a platform for exchange and opportunities for young people.
Conferences and panels addressed key themes such as the future of gaming in Africa, training opportunities, the creation of local studios, and digital entrepreneurship. This highlighted how video games are now a genuine driver of innovation and professional integration.
The event also showcased African creativity with the participation of 13 video game studios, while offering educational workshops (robotics, AI, drawing, drones) for younger audiences. Open to families and featuring an Otaku zone dedicated to pop culture, Efest Africa 2026 confirms its structuring role in the digital ecosystem. This momentum is gradually positioning Dakar as a gaming hub in West Africa.
