Diomaye Faye à Kolda : les étudiants exigent la fin des travaux de l'université
Construction of the Kolda University Center began in 2015. Eleven years later, the project remains unfinished. Students enrolled at the university continue to attend classes in temporary facilities requisitioned by the state. "Enough is enough," declare these students, who are preparing to meet with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye at the Kolda governor's office. Their demand is clear: complete the construction and begin classes at the university center, located five kilometers from the city center.
While President Diomaye Faye is in Kolda for a 72-hour visit starting this Thursday, his schedule does not include a visit to the university construction site. This decision has sparked incomprehension and anger among students. "Why isn't a visit to the university included in this program?" asks Abdoulaye Baldé, a second-year geography student.
Determined, these students want to make their voices heard by the head of state. However, according to Seynabou Diop, their request for an audience with the president has little chance of success due to the extremely busy schedule of the guardian of the Constitution.
