Programme "Wajaal Xaléyi" : L’armée et l'inspection d’académie de Ziguinchor sensibilisent au lycée Djignabo
The Djignabo Bassène high school in Ziguinchor served as the setting for the launch of the "Wajaal Xaléyi" program in the southern region by the armed forces and the academy inspectorate. Awareness-raising activities on the nation's republican values and other life phenomena marked the beginning of the activities of this program, led by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
An opportunity for the command of military zone No. 5 to address the young high school students, who are the spearhead of the nation, in the presence of the headmaster, the high school staff and the academy inspector Papa Gorgui Ndiaye.
Colonel Cheikh Guèye delivered a veritable lecture on the meaning of the national flag and certain civic values. He urged young people to be careful with drugs and not to be influenced by social media.
"Children, be careful with social media. Social media are tools that can normally serve you, but they must not destroy you. In your education, know how to use these social media. They can contribute to your academic development. Also, be careful with certain scourges, especially drugs, which are decimating certain layers of our society. Also, be careful with illegal immigration," pleaded the Com-zone.
The deputy governor in charge of administrative affairs, who presided over the launch of the program, after welcoming this initiative, made recommendations to the young people: "This framework must be a call to commitment, to you. Dear students of the Djignabo-Bassène high school in Ziguinchor, just like the other students in the Ziguinchor region, you are all at the heart of Senegal's national transformation agenda by 2050, which places human capital at the heart of development."
Alsény Bangoura urged young people to develop an awareness of the general interest, respect for the common good, and a love of work well done. "It is with these virtues that a dignified, united, and ambitious nation is built."
