Moyen-Orient : la précision de taille de la diplomatie sénégalaise sur une supposée déclaration d’un ministre iranien
In recent days, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been accused of making disparaging remarks about Senegal. The Senegalese government has just responded.
“We have great respect for this brotherly people of Africa, but I humbly ask President Faye, whom I respect, not to blindly follow the West. Everyone knows who the aggressor and the victim are. Let him know that we have missiles within range of American bases in Senegal and that we will not hesitate to destroy them if he truly joins the aggressor’s side,” he reportedly said, according to some online platforms. The Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that this was false.
The department headed by Sheikh Niang clarifies that "the information is unfounded and in no way reflects reality." It urges the public to refer exclusively to the official pages of the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, as well as those of the relevant government agencies, to stay informed about current events and authentic communications regarding government action.
