Inculpations d'anciens ministres : le grand coup de frein de la Haute Cour de Justice
According to Les Échos, the High Court of Justice appears to have abruptly slowed its activities, despite the fanfare surrounding the indictment of five former ministers of Macky Sall's regime. The newspaper notes that the court's investigating committee is now operating at a reduced capacity, leaving several cases pending, notably that of Mansour Faye. The brother of the former First Lady is being prosecuted in a case of alleged overbilling on rice involving 2.7 billion CFA francs. However, the investigation was officially completed last November, when the committee's president, Abdoulaye Bâ, and his colleagues issued a closing order.
Although the defense lawyers promptly submitted their observations in accordance with procedural requirements, the same source notes that the investigating commission has still not issued its final ruling, whether it be a referral to trial or a dismissal. This silence of nearly seven months raises numerous questions about the reasons for this impasse. Furthermore, doubts have arisen regarding the strength of the accusations: the commission had already granted Mansour Faye provisional release subject to judicial supervision for "serious disputes." Moreover, in November 2025, the senior investigating judge issued a dismissal order in favor of Raya Hachem, Moustapha Ndiaye, and Mouhamed Dieng, who were being prosecuted in the same case, the daily newspaper recalls.
