Stratégie sécuritaire : la Zone militaire n°2 mise sur l’anticipation territoriale
Military Zone No. 2, in partnership with the Bureau of Strategic Studies and Research (BRES-OCTAGONE), held a strategic territorial foresight workshop on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Saint-Louis officers' mess hall. This meeting is part of the implementation of an integrated system for territorial strategic monitoring and decision support for the military command.
Presiding over the ceremony in the presence of several military authorities, the commander of Military Zone No. 2, Colonel Alioune Samassa, stressed the importance of anticipation in a security context marked by uncertainty, the volatility of situations and the diversification of threats.

"It is no longer just a matter of reacting to crises, but of anticipating them, understanding them as soon as they appear and providing appropriate, coordinated and effective responses," the senior officer said.
According to Colonel Samassa, this initiative aims to lay the foundations for a strategic intelligence system capable of effectively supporting the command in its decision-making. He emphasized that this system must be structured, responsive, and aligned with the realities of the area of responsibility of Military Zone No. 2.
Through this workshop, the organizers also aim to create a framework for exchange, reflection, and innovation around territorial security challenges. The commander of Military Zone No. 2 praised the diversity of expertise mobilized, considering it a major asset for designing tools adapted to operational needs.
Colonel Samassa finally called on the participants to demonstrate commitment, initiative and pragmatism in order to produce concrete recommendations that can be directly used by the military command.
