Commerce extérieur sénégalais — exportations février 2026
Senegalese exports are on the rise again. In January, they had fallen to 412 billion FCFA from December, when record external sales had generated 825.3 billion FCFA. Now, in February 2026, they have reached 453.1 billion FCFA. This represents an increase of 9.8%.
This growth is explained by increased sales of non-monetary gold (90.7 billion FCFA compared to 70.2 billion in January), crude oil (142.3 billion FCFA compared to 135.0 billion), and liquefied natural gas (17.8 billion FCFA compared to 14.6 billion).
However, compared to February 2025, the level of exports has fallen by 23.4%. Their cumulative total at the end of February 2026 stood at 865.8 billion FCFA, compared to 974.5 billion FCFA for the same period in 2025, a decrease of 11.2%.
As for imports, they amounted to 513.2 billion FCFA, compared to 524.8 billion in January. This is a decrease of 2.2%, due to a decline in purchases of refined petroleum products (109.3 billion FCFA compared to 133.0 billion the previous month), rice (13.2 billion FCFA compared to 20.1 billion in January), among others.
Furthermore, in February 2026, the trade deficit stood at -60.1 billion FCFA, compared to -112.2 billion the previous month. This represents a decrease of 46.4%.
