Souveraineté nationale : Le plaidoyer du Président Diomaye Faye depuis le parc des expositions
During a visit this morning to the International Agriculture and Animal Resources Fair (SIARA), organized at the heart of FIARA in the CICES exhibition park, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, made a strong impression with a vigorous plea in favor of national economic autonomy.
The Head of State strongly reaffirmed a central conviction that now guides public action: the transformation of the agricultural, forestry, livestock, and fisheries sector into a true "major lever of national sovereignty." For President Faye, this sector must no longer simply ensure subsistence, but become a powerful engine of "wealth and job creation" for all Senegalese.
While praising the producers' remarkable commitment, he paid particular attention to the role of women and young people, seeing them as key players in an "expected structural transformation".
The Senegal International Trade Centre (CICES), with its proven capacity to host large-scale events such as FIARA and FIDAK, confirms its status as an exceptional venue for strategic exchanges.
