[EXCLUSIF] UCAD : Vidéo virale de l’étudiante criant au viol, ce que l’enquête de la police a révélé
Following the widespread circulation of a video on social media in which a student from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) claims to be a victim of rape, the national police have opened an investigation to shed light on this case.
The investigations carried out by the Point-E district police station, under the command of Commissioner El Hadji Aly Sow, quickly led to the identification and location of the young woman. She is O. Dia, 23 years old, a second-year student at the Faculty of Sciences, originally from Dioum, in the Fouta region. She was staying at Pavilion Q.
With the support of COUD security officers, she was immediately taken to the Point-E police station.
The police station is seeing an influx of people: the student's father, the Director General of COUD, as well as some fellow students.
When questioned by the commissioner about the allegations contained in her video, O. Dia provided incoherent answers, adopting an aggressive and violent attitude, even going so far as to vandalize belongings in the office, according to exclusive information from Seneweb.
In his official statement, the girl's father provided important information about his daughter's state of health:
"She is ill and often depressed. She was recently released from hospitalization at Fann. Everything she says is based on imagination and delusions."
Transfer to Fann Hospital
Convinced to get into an ambulance dispatched to the scene, O. Dia was taken, under requisition, to Fann Hospital for two consultations: one psychiatric, the other gynecological.
After she was taken into care, her father said he wanted to bring her back to the village the very next day, if her condition stabilized.
O. Dia's roommates were summoned for questioning.
Although the initial findings of the investigation seem to indicate that the student is in a depressive state and that the rape allegations could stem from psychiatric disorders, as confirmed by her father, the police authorities remain cautious.
The investigation opened by the Point-E police station is continuing and no definitive conclusion can be drawn at this stage of the investigation.
Since Tuesday, March 17, 2026, O. Dia has been hospitalized at Fann Hospital. According to testimonies gathered by Seneweb, she is in a very agitated state within the psychiatric facility.
