Calendrier électoral : Modou Diagne Fada exige une date pour les locales et prévient les autorités
During the general assembly of the Front for the Defense of the Republic (FDR) in the Thiès department, Modou Diagne Fada painted a bleak picture of the national situation. He cited obstacles in several key areas, including the economy, finance, agriculture, livestock, and education. The political leader attributed these difficulties to what he called poor governance, stating that "nothing works anymore in this country" and that the people have endured "two years of misery."
The former minister accused the authorities of delaying local elections for fear of defeat. "They know they're going to lose, that's why they refuse to set a date," he said, while firmly asserting that these elections will take place "whether they like it or not."
For him, these local elections have a major national significance and could influence the country's political future by 2029. To this end, he called for unity and mobilization among FDR leaders, as well as various sectors of society, in the face of the difficulties currently facing Senegal.
Finally, Modou Diagne Fada urged opposition figures to set aside personal and partisan interests by prioritizing consensus candidates in each municipality. "Let's choose the best candidate in each locality," he insisted, convinced that this unified strategy remains the key to winning the upcoming elections.
