Le SYTAS dénonce son exclusion du comité d’harmonisation à l’AIBD.SA

The Senegal Airport Workers' Union (SYTAS) strongly protested its exclusion from the committee set up by the General Management of Blaise Diagne International Airport ( AIBD.SA ) to work on harmonization between the Air Transport Convention and the Collective Commerce Agreement.

In a statement sent to Seneweb, SYTAS said it noted with "indignation and astonishment" this exclusion, which it considers "unjustified." According to the union, the coordinator appointed by the General Management to lead this work had "intentionally excluded SYTAS," despite it being the second largest union in the company and the legitimate representative of the staff.

The union firmly denounces "this premeditated forfeiture and attitude, marked by bias and contempt of the coordinator, which violate not only the fundamental principles of freedom of association guaranteed by the Senegalese Labor Code (Article L.8, L.9 and L.274) and the international conventions of the ILO (Article 3 Convention No. 87 and Article 1 Convention No. 98 on freedom of association and the right to organize and collective bargaining), but also the elementary rules of inclusive social dialogue within a company. SYTAS firmly condemns this deviation and recalls that AIBD.SA , a strategic public company, cannot be the scene of score-settling or union manipulation orchestrated by individuals driven by personal interests."

SYTAS demands the immediate reinstatement of its Secretary General, Djibril Sène, within the committee, as well as an equitable composition between the representatives of the two collective agreements.

Calling on the General Management to "get its act together without delay and restore trust with the social partners", SYTAS reaffirms its determination to defend the rights and dignity of workers.

The union says it is ready "to take any action necessary to ensure that legality and the principles of social dialogue are respected, warning that it will not allow any exclusionary tactics to undermine the hard-won union gains."
