Thiès : Érigé en poste de santé, la structure de Sanghé manque cruellement de tout !
Health officials in Sanghé took advantage of the ceremony to receive a large donation of medicines to draw attention to the many difficulties faced by the local health post.
Speaking at the event, Ousseynou Ciss, executive secretary of the Sanghé health post, welcomed the planned upgrade of the health hut to a full-fledged health post in 2025, a major step forward for the local population. However, he believes the facility does not yet meet the standards of a proper health post.
According to him, the health post suffers from a significant lack of infrastructure and medical equipment, which limits the quality of services offered to patients. He also reported that the post's ambulance is out of service, a situation that considerably complicates the evacuation of patients to more suitable facilities. In addition, the lack of a passable road makes access to the post particularly difficult for the local population.
Faced with these constraints, Ousseynou Ciss appealed to the local people and to those of goodwill to support efforts to improve healthcare conditions in Sanghé.
For his part, the chief medical officer of the Thiès health district, Dr. Amadou Mbaye Diouf, reiterated that upgrading the health post to a full-fledged health center is only the first step. He sought to reassure the public about the future of the facility. "Sanghé will eventually have a health center that meets the required standards, with at least four buildings. We will continue our efforts to equip this facility with the necessary infrastructure and medical equipment," he affirmed.
Dr. Diouf was speaking at the ceremony for the reception of a batch of medicines worth 500,000 FCFA donated by Ibrahima Tine, director of Construction of courthouses and other public buildings.
This donation is a real relief for the people of Sanghé, especially during this rainy season marked by a resurgence of certain diseases, particularly malaria. The medications received should help strengthen patient care and improve healthcare services in the area.
