Alimentation du Mali en carburant : Plus de 500 camions citernes remplis d’essence et de gasoil réceptionnés à Bamako
The Malian Petroleum Products Office (OMAP) received over 500 tanker trucks filled with gasoline and diesel last Friday, according to the public service newspaper L'Essor. The arrival of these tankers is expected to increase fuel availability and stabilize supplies to the national market.
It is worth remembering that there has been a large influx of people at gas stations in recent days.
This has led some to believe that Mali is once again facing a fuel crisis. But this is not the case, assures Colonel Issa Raoul Drabo, director of the Crisis Coordination and Management Center (Cecogec).
"We are rather in a just-in-time situation."
Invited to the ORTM 8pm news program last Friday, the authority explained that it is the massive and sudden influx of customers at the service stations that causes the long queues observed.
Regarding the availability of diesel, he stated that there is no shortage at this time.
"We are rather in a just-in-time situation," he explained, revealing that more than 60% of the 529 tanker trucks received contained diesel.
