Côte d’Ivoire : l’ex-footballeur Abdoulaye Traoré condamné à trois ans de prison pour viol
On April 22, 2026, the Ivorian justice system sentenced former international Abdoulaye Traoré, alias "Ben Badi", to three years in prison for rape, at the end of proceedings initiated in 2021.

The Abidjan court also handed down a ten-year deprivation of his civic rights, a five-year ban on residing in Bouaké, and ordered him to pay 15 million FCFA in damages to the victim.
This conviction marks the culmination of a long legal process and deals a blow to the image of the former Elephants striker, once an important figure in Ivorian football.
