Côte d’Ivoire : Tidjane Thiam redessine l’architecture de l’équipe dirigeante du PDCI après la Présidentielle
Tidjane Thiam clearly has the confidence of his party, the PDCI. The political party did not opt for a plan B during the presidential election last October, despite the invalidation of its president's candidacy. It abstained from participating in the vote.
In the aftermath of the election, "Fraternité Matin" reports a major reshuffle within the party leadership. Tidjane Thiam dismissed Sylvestre Emmou from his position as secretary of the political party. He is replaced by Yapo Yapo Calice, formerly the president's high representative for the Lagunes district. Mr. Emmou is appointed special advisor to the president. Bamba Joseph Youssoufou takes on the role of deputy chief of staff to the president. Kouamé Yao Séraphin, who headed the department in charge of new memberships, is replaced by Kabran Gnankon Estelle Gisèle.
The most promoted official is Djedri Ngoran. He is now the vice-president and deputy executive secretary of the party. His mission is the administrative oversight and development of the party's network of cadres. Amankrou Jean-Michel, for his part, has been appointed executive secretary in charge of training and the PDCI-RDA political institute.
These various appointments and reassignments come after the 2025 presidential election which saw the victory of President Alassane Ouattara.
The statesman will therefore begin a 4th term at the head of the country, much to the dismay of opponents like Tidjane Thiam and Laurent Gbagbo, excluded from the electoral process.
