In Gabon, a 36-year-old electrician named Tanguy Evoua Menzouet attempted to take his own life last Saturday in Makokou, a city in the country's northeast. According to the Gabon Press Agency, the man, an employee at the Provincial School of Health and Social Action Training, slit his throat with a knife. Death did not claim him, and he ended up in the emergency room of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Regional Hospital Center in Makokou. Initial medical examinations and his psychological evaluation revealed concerning disorders, including persecutory delusions, auditory and visual hallucinations, and incoherent speech. He is currently receiving care at the hospital complex. In addition to his throat, the man in his thirties is also reported to have attempted to cut the veins in his wrist. These actions are seen as clear evidence of his intent to end his life.
