Gabon : Un opposant propose au président Oligui Nguéma de proclamer le parti unique
His departure from the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) in November 2024 has generated much discussion and controversy. Alain Claude Bilie By Nzé, the former Prime Minister of Gabon, has become a fierce opponent of the regime of General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma over the past 10 months.
He doesn't hesitate to fire broadsides at the new government and his former party, the PDG. Recently, the Makokou native ironically suggested that the authorities declare a single party in the country.
“CEO/UDB: Six of one and half a dozen of the other? Two breasts of the same evil…”
He made this sarcastic request, in view of certain facts which, according to him, indicate an incestuous relationship between the ruling party, the Democratic Union of Builders (UDB) and the PDG.
"CEO/UDB: Six of one and half a dozen of the other? Two breasts of the same evil, two feet of the same disaster. Born in lies and deception, it is in deception and duplicity that this regime is sinking. Proclaim a single party, we would save time!" the former Prime Minister said on his X account.
It must be said that the PDG has recently made decisions that suit the ruling party. Indeed, the political party led by Blaise Louembé has decided to withdraw the requests to annul the disputed candidacies of defectors from his party to the UDB.
UDB “violates the electoral code”
The CEO had previously appealed to the Constitutional Court to challenge these candidacies, arguing that the resignation of its former members was irregular.
For Alain Claude Bilie-Bye-Nze, the decision of the old party confirms "the violation by the UDB of the provisions of article 82 of the organic law on the electoral code in the Gabonese Republic."
