Guinée : Accès perturbé à Facebook, les internautes contournent les restrictions via des VPN
In several areas, the platform is difficult to access, with particularly long loading times, or even a complete inability to connect for some users. Faced with these malfunctions, many users report resorting to virtual private networks (VPNs) to bypass restrictions and access their accounts. "Without a VPN, Facebook doesn't work properly," several citizens interviewed reported.
These disruptions are occurring within a tense context on social media. Over the past 24 hours, comments deemed offensive, attributed to Guinean artists Yama Sega and Maya, have been widely shared online, sparking a wave of reactions from the public.
Having gone viral in a short time, this content was subsequently removed from the official accounts of both artists.
At the same time, the High Authority for Communication (HAC) has intensified its warnings against the dissemination of content deemed offensive and the spread of unverified information on digital platforms.
At this stage, no official statement has been made to explain the origin of the observed disruptions. Whether it's a technical incident, a network slowdown, or a targeted restriction, the causes remain uncertain.
