GUINÉE : Les présidents sénégalais et malien rejoignent Conakry pour l’investiture du Général Mamadi Doumbouya
At the last minute, two West African heads of state confirmed their presence in Conakry to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of Guinea, General Mamadi Doumbouya, this Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, left Dakar in the morning to travel to Conakry, where he will take part in this historic event.
For his part, the President of the Transition of Mali, General Assimi Goïta, also left Bamako early this morning to join the Guinean capital.
The ceremony, held at the General Lansana Conté stadium in Nongo, brings together several heads of state, diplomatic representatives and official delegations from various African countries.
This dual presence testifies to the strengthening of relations between Guinea, Senegal and Mali, three nations united by deep historical, cultural and political ties.
Nongo Stadium vibrates this Saturday in the colours of the Republic of Guinea, in an atmosphere marked by fervor, music and the presence of thousands of citizens who came to celebrate this historic moment.
