Guinée - Présidentielle 2025 : Le candidat Abdoulaye Kourouma reconnaît sa défaite et félicite Mamadi Doumbouya
While the proclamation of the partial and provisional results of the presidential election of December 28, 2025 is not yet complete, the candidate of the Rally for Renaissance and Development (RRD), Abdoulaye Kourouma, acknowledged his defeat this Tuesday.
In a statement given to Seneweb Guinea, Mr. Kourouma confirmed his decision and congratulated the candidate of the Generation for Modernity and Development (GMD), Mamadi Doumbouya, whom he considers to be the winner of the election.
According to the president of the RRD, this recognition is based on data collected by its representatives at the level of the administrative commissions for centralizing votes (CACV), which would indicate a clear lead for the GMD candidate.
"The information we have received from our leaders on the ground is unequivocal. I congratulate General Mamadi Doumbouya on his victory and I call on my supporters to remain calm and respectful of republican institutions," said Mr. Kourouma.
The president of the RRD, who was one of the nine candidates in the running for this election, thus becomes the first to officially acknowledge his defeat, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) continues to publish the provisional results.
This attitude, praised by several observers, is seen as a gesture of political maturity and respect for the democratic process, in an electoral context often marked by challenges to the results.
