JOJ 2026 : le Comité national de sécurité en tournée à Thiès et Dakar pour affiner le dispositif sécuritaire
As part of preparations for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), a large delegation from the National Youth Olympic Games Security Committee (CNS YOG), led by its coordinator Cheikh Niang, conducted a working visit today to the administrative authorities of Thiès and Dakar. This tour aims to harmonize security strategies with local authorities in preparation for the largest sporting event ever hosted by Senegal.
Thiès stage
Received by the governor of the Thiès region, Saer Ndao, the delegation presented the origins and missions of the CNS JOJ (National Youth Olympic Committee), the umbrella body for all defense and security forces. The deputy coordinator and the deputy chairman of the Operations and Planning Commission detailed the security arrangements planned for the three competition venues: Dakar, Diamniadio, and Saly, emphasizing the close collaboration expected from local authorities to guarantee the safety of athletes and the public.
Governor Saer Ndao welcomed this approach of proximity, recalling that the involvement of administrative authorities is a sine qua non condition for the success of maintaining public order, and advocating for even greater integration of local actors in the decision-making process.
Dakar Stage
The delegation was then received by the Governor of the Dakar region, Ousmane Kane, who praised a communicative approach that allowed each stakeholder to grasp the issues and adjust operational planning in real time. He paid tribute to the National Youth Olympic Committee (CNS JOJ), seeing it as a symbol of "transcendence" and the ability of the security forces to unite in the exclusive service of the nation.
The visit concluded with a series of mutual recommendations aimed at optimizing the effectiveness of the security arrangements. These discussions confirm the shared commitment of the State and the security forces to making the 2026 Youth Olympic Games a historic success.
