Le « Magalu Xassida Yi » de Paris : quand la diaspora mouride transforme la capitale française en temple des Khassaïdes
They came from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, and Italy. On Friday, May 15, 2026, several Mouride disciples converged on Paris for the 11th edition of "Magalu Xassida Yi," a major spiritual gathering entirely dedicated to the Khassaides of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba.

Since 2014, the Daara Dialibatou of Paris, founded by young Senegalese professionals and students living in France, has perpetuated this tradition, which has become one of the largest spiritual events of the Mouride diaspora in Europe. Under the spiritual guidance of Serigne Hamssatou Mbacké Sonhibou, grandson of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, the Daara has established itself over the years as a space for transmission, devotion, and cultural influence.

For twenty-four hours without interruption, participants will take turns reciting the Sheikh's religious poems, alternating between recitations, prayers, and lectures. A total spiritual immersion, faithful to the words of the Master of Touba: "My writings are my proclaimed miracles."

To finance this major international event, with an estimated budget of €150,000, members of the Daara and their supporters in the diaspora contributed financially, covering all costs for catering, accommodation, venue rental, and logistics. This collective effort demonstrates the vitality and solidarity of the Mouride community beyond Senegal's borders.
