Mali : Les véhicules non immatriculés ne sont plus autorisés à circuler dans le pays
In Mali, the government has banned the circulation of unregistered vehicles. This measure, which came into effect on June 30, 2026, aims to strengthen security in the country.
Support measures
The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) will therefore be able to identify vehicles in circulation more quickly, strengthen controls and fight crime more effectively.
To ensure that financial constraints do not hinder the implementation of this measure, Bamako has decided to support owners of vehicles without license plates. They will benefit from a 12-month exemption from customs duties.
Those who have already paid customs duties on their vehicles will benefit from a six-month exemption from stamp duty and registration fees. These support measures apply to vehicle owners whose purchase price does not exceed 30 million FCFA.
The Malian government is giving all vehicle owners without license plates a 12-month grace period to complete the regularization formalities.
