Nigeria : Démission du ministre des Affaires étrangères Yusuf Tuggar
Yusuf Tuggar is no longer the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs. The politician resigned yesterday, Monday, March 30, 2026.
In a statement published on his digital platforms, he said he had "officially submitted his letter of resignation to the Office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, in accordance with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the provisions of the electoral law."
He wants to run for governor of Bauchi State
Indeed, Mr. Tuggar has his eye on the governorship of Bauchi State. This is the real reason behind his resignation. President Tinubu had asked ministers and other political appointees who wished to run in the 2027 elections to resign from their current positions before March 31, 2026.
Yusuf Tuggar thanked President Tinubu for allowing him to serve his country and "contribute to advancing Nigeria's foreign policy through the 4D doctrine."
