Nigeria : « Sommie », présentatrice télé de 29 ans, morte en tentant d’échapper à des voleurs armés
She was 29 years old. Somtochukwu Maduagwu, nicknamed "Sommie," a news anchor on Nigeria's Arise News Channel, died last Monday after jumping from the third floor of her apartment in an attempt to escape armed robbers, local police reported on X.
According to Ajao S. Adewale, Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, "she tragically lost her life during an armed robbery at her home in Abuja in the early hours of Monday, September 29."
The young woman, also a producer at the news channel, was found unconscious on the ground after trying to flee the burglars. She was rushed to hospital, but eventually succumbed to her injuries. In a statement, the Nigerian police denounced "a cruel and senseless act that has no place in a healthy society." A thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, and "intelligence and operational resources to identify, track, and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime" have been deployed.
Management at Arise News Channel, where the victim worked, expressed deep sadness at the loss of a "beloved colleague." The channel praised her as "a dynamic, engaged voice capable of connecting with our viewers." It added: "Beyond the airwaves, Sommie was a dedicated professional, a supportive colleague, and a friend to many."
"Sommie's voice has now been silenced, but his spirit, passion, and legacy will live on in our collective memory. We remain in shock and call for a swift investigation, as well as the arrest and prosecution of the culprits," the channel concluded.

on doit tous etre hautement armè et on ne doit hesiter une seule minute à ouvrir le feu à des malfaiteurs qui rentrent dans notre proprietè en infraction....l'unique solution de faire eloigner les criminels c'est d'etre plus violent qu'eux......En Afrique du sud on attaque deux fois plus les maisons des noirs parcequ'ils ne sont pas armès...les blancs ils tirrent dessus sans hesiter.
En general on a tendance a mettre des grilles de prptection um peu partout dams nos maisons de sorte que si c'etait ici l'affrontment serait inevitable
