The United States "still collaborates with the armies of the juntas in power in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger," a senior official at the United States Africa Command (Africom) told AFP, despite their distancing from several Western partners on security matters.
"We are still collaborating. We have even shared information with some of them to strike key terrorist targets, but the situation is very different from two or three years ago," General John Brennan said in an interview on the sidelines of U.S.-Nigeria security talks last week.
