Paul Biya sworn in for an eighth term
President Paul Biya will be sworn in for an eighth term on November 6, 2025. The solemn ceremony will take place in Yaoundé, under tight security, in front of a joint session of Parliament.
Western ambassadors (EU, United States, United Kingdom, Canada) will be present.
President Biya will deliver a highly anticipated speech, his first since the end of the electoral process, while some opposition candidates, including Issa Tchiroma Bakary, continue to contest the results.
