Présidentielle 2026 au Bénin : Les pièces autorisées pour voter le dimanche 12 avril
In Benin, the presidential campaign ends this Friday, April 10th, at midnight. The two pairs of candidates in the running for this election, namely (Wadagni-Talata) and (Hounkpè-Hounwanou), will therefore end their travels across the country to face off at the polls on Sunday, April 12th.
This Friday, the Ministry of the Interior published the list of 11 forms of identification authorized for voting.
These include the National Identity Card (valid or not), the biometric identity card, the Passport (valid or not), the consular card, the driver's license, the professional identity card, the pension booklet (civilian or military with photo), the Personal Identification Number/FID Certificate ("it's me card"), the Personal Identification Certificate (valid or not), the student card, the school identity card, and the Lépi card (permanent computerized electoral list). In short, voters have a wide range of choices.
Next Sunday, election day, markets and bars will remain closed from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the country. All public gatherings are also prohibited during the same hours.
