Présidentielle ivoirienne: Baba Koné rassure sur le bon déroulement du vote à Dakar

The president of the Senegal-Mauritania diplomatic representation commission, Baba Koné, gave an update on the progress of the Ivorian presidential election this Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Ivorian embassy in Dakar.

According to him, the morning began with a low turnout for the distribution of voter cards, with several people still waiting to collect their cards. But as the hours passed, a strong turnout was observed, with voters coming out in large numbers to fulfill their civic duty.

"Our expectation is that everything will happen peacefully, without any major incidents. I urge voters to come out and vote en masse," said Baba Koné.

The constituency comprises approximately 3,893 voters in Dakar, spread across three polling stations in Senegal, Mauritania and Ziguinchor, with nine polling stations located within the Embassy.

A significant security presence is deployed around the site and representatives of each party are present in the polling stations.

So far, no incidents have been reported. The election is taking place calmly and transparently.
