Senegal wasted no time in extending their lead against Gambia after the break. Having just come on as a substitute at the start of the second half, striker Ibrahima Mbaye immediately made his mark in spectacular fashion.
In the 47th minute, just two minutes after the restart, Mbaye doubled the lead, perfectly finishing off a sharp attack by the Lions. This lightning-fast introduction allowed Senegal to extend their advantage and now lead 2-0 against the Scorpions.
With this two-goal advantage, Pape Thiaw's men are in an ideal position to control the rest of the match. Gambia, on the other hand, find themselves with their backs against the wall and forced to open up if they hope to get back into this derby.
